The House of the Potter

The House of the Potter builds on the tradition of small pottery studios, which I brought together into a single whole. The design consists of four volumes in the varied tones of ceramic clay, each with its own character, window composition and façade. The first and second volumes form a ceramic workshop with a kiln, potter’s wheel and terrace, designed for up to 25 makers. The third volume contains the residential part, with a kitchen and dining space separated by a modest level shift. The fourth serves as a garage. This is a house where material becomes a medium and a quiet conversation between craft, landscape and the everyday rhythms of life.
