SPATULA, TUBE, INITIALS

This publication contains a total of three assignments that I completed this and last semester. For the first assignment, we had to make our own wooden spatulas, which we will continue to work with. I made two perfectly smoothed spatulas from cherry wood, one for rougher, larger shapes and the other for fine details. The second assignment was to model a dented tempera tube, which I then cast from plaster using a wedge mold. After that, I just retouched and patinated the cast. As a third assignment, we had to design initials (the first letters of our names) and make them from five different materials. I had a great time trying out several different techniques and new materials.
