MIGRATION PAVILION

The design of this pavilion reflects both its surroundings and, above all, the idea closely related to its name. Migratio (Latin for migration) means resettlement, relocation, or eviction. These actions are connected by movement and transfer from one place to another. That is why, in addition to passageways, the building also features a number of staircases. Furthermore, the topic of migration cannot be viewed solely in a negative context; while people do move because of wars, poor conditions, or natural disasters, they also move in search of work, education, and better opportunities. For this reason, the pavilion lets in more daylight upwards and offers an accessible terrace at the top – reflecting the idea of growing hope, which is also associated with the theme of the project.
