LIGHTGAME

Annotation

The Světlohra Pavilion is designed as a spatial sequence that responds to the process of the human eye adapting to light. The architecture works with a gradual transformation of lighting conditions that influence the perception of space and the visitor’s orientation. Light becomes the main creative element of the project. The structure consists of three interconnected spaces with a gradation of light from the darkest to the brightest. The first space uses a concentrated beam of light guided through a skylight as an orientational focal point. The second space functions as a transitional phase, where daylight is diffused through a darkened three-layer window system. The third space completes the adaptation process in a more open manner, with a stronger penetration of daylight.
