Affordable Housing Strupčice

Nikita Bardatskii

Annotation

The designed family house for a couple over 60 years old is situated in the village of Strupčice in northern Bohemia and, according to a common urban design, must be open to public space to support social relations. The concept of the house is the so-called "articulation principle", that is the connection of three masses at a nodal point, bending into an L shape and orientation to the garden and at the same time to the south, while the masses are divided into zones and each fulfills its own function. The nodal place is designed as a corridor with an entrance and a spiral staircase, around which life takes place.
