The first idea behind the "rock" was to use the key position at the conjunction of a street bend and the entrance to Hvězda and create a square and a path that would connect the building and the passers-by directly to the popular Terezka lake. We also wanted to create a vertical space that would combine the artist's studio with temporary housing and preserve at the same time intimacy for the inhabitant. The mass gradually shaped through the development of the upper levels and through the aim of creating a large window that would connect the building with the park. In the initial design we worked with similar shapes and gradated towards the park and the stairs. In contrast to the dynamic shiny tin mass of the studio stands the harmonious gallery, serving as a pedestal for our diamond.
