Naděžda Gallery

Annotation

Naděžda Gallery is inspired by the life and work of a Czech underground graphic designer Naděžda Plíšková. It consists of two parts. Above ground lays a slightly warped house-like building inside which you can find a small café. Its main feature is a huge table - "gathering together at one table" is an ever-present motif in both Naděždas life and work. The gallery itself is located in the underground. It consists of an atrium with two staircases wrapped around it. Although you can somewhat see through a thin gap in the center walls, it is only when you reach the bottom floor that you finally see the atrium as a whole - including a ceiling window high above. This part of the building feels very cold and uninviting. Its main inspiration was Naděždas very difficult life.
