OBJECT FOR THE ATRIUM OF FA ČVUT - IMPEDIO

The proposed exhibition space IMPEDIO presents through art the reality and seriousness of the ongoing climate change with its impact on life in the Czech Republic and the world. It is located in the northern atrium of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague designed by prof. Ing. akad. arch. Alena Šrámková. The material aspect of the school building is dominated by exposed concrete walls, which have a heavy impact on people. The designed exhibition space IMPEDIO, on the other hand, is supposed to give a light impression to visitors. However, the basic three ideas of the spatial framework and the embedded object are identical: simplicity, openness and truthfulness.IMPEDIO (Latin for tangled) consists of two identical organic shapes turned 180º.
