Hosting professor's studio

Annotation

In Japanese culture, the lantern symbolizes hope and light in darkness, a fitting metaphor for the university environment, often filled with challenges. The building reflects this concept, with its white facade glowing during the day and studio floors lit at night, showcasing students' work. The design addresses an unused space between the faculty and canteen, often filled with parking. Its compact form and rotated position respect the site, while its height and materiality stand out, proudly engaging with the surrounding buildings. The glazed surfaces encourage dialogue with the public, embodying the spirit of the faculty, where everyone’s presence is visible, day or night.
