Jan Sedlák became the new chairman of the Faculty Senate

On Wednesday 9 February, the 17th meeting of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU took place. On the agenda were mainly the resignation of the chairman and two senators, election of a new board and discussion of new Vice-Deans.

Prof. Petr Vorlík from the Department of Theory and History of Architecture resigned as the chairman of the Senate. Kateřina Rottová from the Department of Architectural Design II and Jiří Šrubař from the Department of Load-bearing structures also resigned from the position of senators. The reason for the resignation is that the position of senators is not compatible with the position of vice-deans. Of the three candidates for chair, Jan Sedlák from the Deparment of Architectural Design III was elected chair, and Henrieta Nezpěváková from the Deparment of Design will be the new vice-chair. New members of the Senate are also Klára Brůhová, doc. Hana Seho and Nikola Alice Hurychová.

The Senate discussed the new vice-deans who will be appointed by Dean Dalibor Hlaváček on 1 March 2022. Jiří Šrubař will become the Vice-Dean for Education, Prof. Petr Vorlík will become the Vice-Dean for Science, Research and Art, Kateřina Rottová will become the Vice-Dean for Public Relations and doc. Irena Fialová from the Department of Urban Design will become the Vice-Dean for International Relations. A new Vice-Dean for Development and Construction will be proposed at the next meeting of the Academic Senate.

The next program included the approval of the FA Annual Report and the announcement of by-elections to the CTU Academic Senate in the FA staff constituency. Senators expressed their consent to the appointment of Prof. Ladislav Lábus to the Science and Arts Council of the FA. The proposal to change the course of the state bachelor's examination was also discussed.
