Facing a growing population and an accelerating climate change, we must fundamentally rethink how we design buildings, infrastructures and cities.

Architect and engineer. Founder and long-standing director of the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK) at the University of Stuttgart. Founder of the globally active firm Werner Sobek AG, which currently employs more than 450 people. In addition to numerous awards and honors for his design and scientific work, Werner Sobek has, among others, been awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. The magazine Cicero counts Werner Sobek among the 300 most influential intellectuals in the German-speaking world

The annual conference provides an opportunity for first-year doctoral students to meet and discuss new and current research topics. The Faculty of Architecture of the CTU cordially invites not only students and teachers, but also interested members of the professional community to participate in the discussions. The event is an ideal opportunity for potential applicants to learn about the possibilities of academic research.
