Podolí City Houses

Annotation

The study of the two corner apartment buildings is based on a fictitious assignment where the city district was looking for the optimal use of undeveloped land through a competitive dialogue. I propose cooperative housing, simple yet comfortable. I end the view axes from the Vltava, Vyšehrad and Podolska Street with representative town houses, a landmark. A contextual, almost unassuming and quiet look, yet contemporary and timeless. The apartments are designed to a modest yet comfortable standard, with light-filled living spaces and large balconies. Most are cross-ventilated. The community life of the building is supported by a communal lounge with laundry and a resident's roof. A community centre with a hall is proposed on the ground floor of the north house, which is lacking in the locality. The house thus forms the imaginary centre of the local centre.
