OLŠANSKÁ HOUSING

Annotation

At a time of housing crisis in large European cities, I propose a large-scale apartment building. How big can one single residential house be before its structure needs to be fragmented, and how far can the extent of efficiency, modularity and infinite grid go? I try to preserve a sense of human scale and informality of living in the design. Is it possible to once again cite some modernist principles as tools for achieving affordable housing? I am designing housing that is not for resale or for storing money, but for long-term habitation at different stages of life and formation of communities . Beyond housing, however, I also emphasize other functions in the building so that it becomes an attractive destination for residents from the surrounding city.
