Center for the Elderly - Karlovy Vary
Architecture and Urbanism, Bachelor Project

Annotation
The senior center is conceived as a place of dignified and fulfilling aging, where quality of life becomes the central architectural theme. The building's layout responds to the everyday needs of elderly residents emphasizing intuitive orientation, clear spatial organization, and full accessibility. Social interaction is encouraged by a dining hall located on the ground floor, serving as a natural community hub. In response to limited sunlight on the site, an innovative solution was implemented the parking area was elevated by one level and covered with a green roof. This rooftop garden serves as a space for horticultural therapy and provides daily contact with nature for the residents. The building follows the graceful curve of I. P. Pavlova Street and, through its dynamic form, sensitively responds to the surrounding urban fabric. The result is architecture that is not only functional, but also welcoming and human-centered.
