EDUCATIONAL CENTRE IN BONGA, ETHIOPIA

The goal of this paper is to design and propose a multipurpose community training center in Bonga, the Kaffa administrative region in Ethiopia. The Training Center will be used among others for delivering locally relevant and most needed practical skills, workshops, demonstration and experiences sharing processes. This can be organised and held by experts from different rural community development agencies, university research practical Internship students' and institutions. This type of Adult and Non-Formal Education center role for enhancing various simple but vital skills and knowledge generally for Ethiopia more specifically for this region is undoubtedly vital due to the lack of job opportunities for annually exploding population of high school graduates as well as underemployed adults. A library and kindergarten would also be part of the building complex. The project intends to use local and traditional materials for the construction having in mind the sustainability of maintenance by local residents.
