COMPLETION OF THE MARIAN SQUARE AND GAP SITE - STARÁ BOLESLAV

Marian square is a historically important place. Thanks to the murder of st. Václav, the patron of Bohemia and Moravia, thousands of pilgrims and tourists come here every year. This this number of people, however, appears once a year, just on the Day of Czech Statehood, September 28th. Instead of fully exploiting the cultural and historical potential of the square, some buildings are slowly depopulated and dilapidated. On the southern tip of the triangular square, there is a former cultural house Labín (now a non-stop and playroom) and a very attractive blank space undeveloped for many years. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find a suitable solution for finishing the blank space with a multifunctional house and revitalization of the cultural house Labín, which would help to attract the inhabitants back to the city center.
