NEW ARCHIEPISCOPAL HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING

This diploma thesis deals with the design of a new building for the Archbishop's Grammar School, currently based in Prague on Náměstí Míru. The building is situated in the lower part of the gardens of the Na Slovanech (Emmaus) monastery between Pod Slovany, Trojická and Vyšehradská streets. Thanks to this attractive and specific location, the school building does not accommodate only its pupils but also visitors to the monastery gardens. Thus the lower part of the Emmaus Monastery, formerly a closed space "behind the wall", becomes an interconnected and open public space.
