BORDER VACUUM ON THE PRAGUE PERIPHERY

The thesis studies an area on the periphery of Prague, located close to the districts Kyje, Hutě, Černý Most and Horní Počernice. A number of arterial roads of national signifficance passes through in the locality and the rest of it is dominated by a large area of malls and warehouses. The thesis aims at improving permeability in the area and establishing a vision of a viable coexistence of big stores, high intensity traffic and housing. This is placed into a theoretical context of the "border vacuum" phenomenon.
