SEARCHING FOR AN IDEAL SITE AND DESIGN OF THE NATIONAL LIBRARY WITH ITS SURROUNDINGS

The National Library has been struggling with a lack of space basically since it was founded. There have been many places in history where the "new" library has been considered. However despite numerous attempts the problem persists and the new National Library is still in sight. This study of the site and typology is trying to bring a new building of the National Library for the Czech nation and is trying to restore some of Těšnov´s original meaning. Bringing back its dignity-related urbanity, creating a landmark for the urban context area and creating a new gateway to the city, already fourth in a row.
