Porta Bohemica Information Center and Outlook

In Roudnice nad Labem, on the left bank of the river Elbe, next to the train station is a former water tower, which served as a water supply for steam locomotives. Our task was to create an information center that would be close to the tower, fulfilling other functions - as gallery and cafe, which would provide shelter, facilities and refreshments for the participants of the cycling path and at the same time create an outlook on the tower, which would become a touristic destination. The tower itself will have only a necessary renovation and will have created an outlook around the circular tank on top of the tower. To the left of the tower are two buildings. One is sunk into a slope and the other is located partly above the river Labe. Newly created buildings have a simple rectangle shape with a facade fabric, which forms the light curtain of the interior and gives the buildings a lightweight look.
