Annotation
When designing the gallery, located in the industrial environment of Pragovka, I tried to find similiarities between the typology of galleries and industrial buildings and connect them. Thanks to this, the buildings borrows visual identity from industrial architecture and then subtly shows it on the facade using gray bricks. The brick facade has perforated segments which cover windows and saw tooth roof. I chose this type of roof for two reasons – first is the context where the building is located, second are lightning conditions that the roof will provide in the interior. The windows in the roof are oriented to the north and thanks to that no direct sunlight will get into the gallery thus we get natural light without any sharp shadows. These conditions are favorable for the gallery.
