Entering the Hall of Magna restores national value and dignity to the Old Town Square. On the western side of the square, the forgotten tip of the Old Town Hall is complemented by a representative building with a large-capacity hall for Charles University. The proposal seeks boundaries and / contextuality. The irregular organic footprint may seem random at first glance and inappropriate on its plots, but the shape was a difference from the shape of the Old Town Hall building, which used to stand in places and was of great importance to Prague. Another reference to history and respect for it is hidden in the construction system of the building. The supporting core is surrounded by a reinforced concrete skeleton, which is divided into 27 modules, which refer to the execution of 27 Czech lords, which took place in Old Town Square in 1621. The supporting core itself forms a solid center - protection for its internal function knowledge transfer. The interior works on the principle of the gallery, which was created for easy orientation and easy use. It also allows you to open the facade in all directions, which brings views of the historic center of Prague and the connection with the surroundings. The glazing of the galleries lightens the façade and the entire volume of the building, which works on a larger scale than the surrounding buildings. Despite its shape, the whole building does not look eccentric and respects the surrounding buildings and landmarks. A solid durable material is chosen as the facade cladding - fiberglass concrete, which I perceive as a modern paraphrase of traditional Prague stone houses.
