MUNICIPAL LIBRARY NYMBURK

The intention of this thesis is to design a new library for the city Nymburk. The current library of the city has inadequate capacity and facilities. In addition to this, the newly designed building also aims to help the city deal with another considerable problem in the form of insufficient number of parking places. Based on these prerequisites an adequate location was chosen on the shores of river Labe and in the city centre, nestled between the historic bridge and new pedestrian walkway. The design brings a new function to this area and at the same time supplements the surrounding builidngs and the area of the waterfront. The design itself is based on exact assignment, which was consulted with the director of them unicipal library of Nymburk and corresponds with contemporary requirements and regulations.
