Revitalisation of Heřmanův Městec city centre

The thesis deals with a revitalization and urban concept of the center of Heřmanův Městec. The town can be proud of well-preserved urban structure in the center, many historical monuments and also natural wealth in the immediate vicinity. The city still preserved its scenic beauty and charm of a small Czech town. Unfortunately, some realized interventions into the structure of the town and its traffic infrastructure destroyed this character.   The thesis deals with the transformation of the center into a public space which is pleasant for people, which is clearly legible, representative and safe. The emphasis is on human activities which can take a place on public space .The thesis emphasizes the function of the square as a space for meeting people together and place for public events. The design is drawn in a scale of the whole downtown and the individual locations are further elaborated in more detailed scale.   The urban design is based on the Land use plan and the thesis offers a variant of its fulfillment.
