Prague - Jižní Město

Revitalization of the housing area Jižní Město in Prague, focusing on the location between Opatovská and Bohúňova streets, green line and D1 highway, is the topic of this thesis. The report contains brief introduction to the history of this type of housing areas, the analysis of Jižní Město and the location itself. The biggest problem of such type of areas is the huge amount of public spaces between houses resulting in other connected difficulties. The new proposed urban design is solving this situation by creating urban blocks of houses, adding various functions necessary for living and creating better transport infrastructure.
