ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE – LOCALITY BY THE BAKERIES

The proposal addresses the sensitive revitalization of the southeastern part of České Budějovice, preserving the character, scale, and spatial structure of the existing development. The area currently feels isolated, lacking quality public space, a defined street network, and greenery. The aim is to open up and connect the locality with the city, supporting pedestrian movement, livability, and community life. Revitalizing street profiles and opening up closed urban blocks creates a safer and more legible environment. A key element is the transformation of a historic bakery into a community center with an adjoining square, and the relocation of the existing school to a new educational center. The vacated site will be used for sports and recreation.
