New Orleaks

New Orleaks is situated on the banks of the reservoir of the same name, surrounding Schwarzenberg Castle. The design enhances the dynamic landscape—water, rocks, hills, forests—dominated by Orlík Castle. The town faces the reservoir, using its transport, recreational, and visual potential while preserving the castle’s dominance and historical authenticity. Connection to the river is reinforced by the street network’s orientation over the slopes, linking most of the town to the water. This is supported by building forms near the shore.
