Exhibition of Studio Projects

Annotation

A panel building on the border between a busy city and a quiet residential area serves young adults in difficult life situations as well as families looking for a fresh start. It offers affordable housing and job opportunities—a café with a bakery enlivens the surroundings and provides sheltered employment. The house is a place to begin, live, and grow. It sensitively separates different resident groups to ensure peaceful coexistence. At its heart is a semi-open public courtyard reminiscent of a cloister garden. The architecture relies on clarity, natural social oversight, and functional organization. The formerly experimental building by Karel Janů is transformed into a vibrant place, built on the qualities of the original design.
