Horní brána

The project is the reconstruction of the town gate building. The reconstruction is based on demolition plans from 1833 and 1839. Other sources were analogies of similar buildings and consultations with experts. The project itself is a tower with small bell tower and the barbican. Period techniques and materials were chosen. Hand-hewn timber will be used for all off the wooden structures. All mortar and plaster will be lime based. The corners of the tower are highlighted with painted blockwork of a slightly darker shade. The stone elements of the window lining, sills and of portals are to be retained as a visible stone.
