FIRE STATION AND BAUHOF

Volunteer firefighters in Deštná, with a century-plus tradition, deserve suitable, representative facilities. Alongside the bauhof, they form a key part of the town's infrastructure.
The new fire station, located in the lower part of town, provides adequate space for the volunteer fire brigade (SDH) and their events. It includes a bauhof with a carpentry workshop and technical service areas. The complex creates a south-facing public space connected to the adjacent meadow.
The architectural design features three identically shaped, wood-clad objects, inspired by the surrounding buildings. Atypical elements are the staircases, carried outside the main footprint in concrete tubes, illuminated by connecting passages and a skylight.
