CHURCH OF CHARLES THE IV.

Annotation
Beneath the monument of the Nusle Bridge, a church rises—not aspiring for dominance, but for the depth. Its verticality turns inward—towards the human, towards the light that finds its path among shadows. The design of the church draws upon the site’s unique atmosphere and striking vertical scale, where the concrete grandeur of the bridge becomes a framework for spiritual introspection. The architecture reflects a contrast between the massive structure overhead and the weightlessness of the sacred space beneath. The surrounding public space is moulded into a modern pilgrimage landscape. The exterior becomes an extension of the church—a terrain of meditation and a return to oneself. Every element carries intent: to turn weight into lightness, noise into silence, emptiness into meaning.
