POVLTAVSKÁ

Annotation

The area along the banks of the Vltava River between the Troja Bridge and the Libeň Chateau is currently a neglected, overlooked, and inefficiently utilized part of Prague. Despite its close proximity to the city center, it suffers from excessive traffic, noise, pollution, and a lack of coherent public space. The area is dominated by brownfields, junkyards, warehouses, and parking lots. The aim of my project is to transform this neglected area into a cohesive and safe urban environment that harnesses the natural and historical potential of the site, strengthens the university infrastructure, and offers a high quality of life to a wide range of users. A key element of the design is the relocation of traffic from Povltavská Street into the planned city ring road tunnel beneath Bílá Skála.
