Train stop Kolín

Bc. Matěj Bílý

Annotation

The area of approx. 50 ha in Kolín near the train stop includes former barracks, a villa district, wholesale halls, and Kmoch’s Island. The project shifts the train stop closer to the center of the area, removes most of the barracks, and proposes a new district for about 2,000 residents as one of the city’s new centers. Key elements— the island, railway, terrain edge, and one historic building—are preserved. The Tesco hall will be replaced by smaller businesses integrated into the ground floors of new buildings. The plan also includes a new footbridge across the island and calming of Pražská Street. The area has a strong connection to the railway line.
