Tábor Prison

Kamil Renčo

Annotation

Tábor Prison is primarily aimed at drug-addicted men. This maximum-security facility with cells for almost three hundred prisoners is modern and humane. Prisoners are housed individually or in pairs in four three-story blocks, with each floor forming a smaller community with its own social spaces. Surrounding them is a work hall, sports fields, security and prisoner facilities, but above all, therapeutic communities where prisoners can work on their addiction. The architecture here specifically supports treatment, resocialization, and personal responsibility. The interior of the cell was designed in collaboration with designer Tereza Cvrčková.
