The Bathing pavilion Between the Banks

Tereza Tomanová

Annotation

The Bathing pavilion Between the Banks is a design for the future natural biotope in Dolánky near Turnov. It respects the nostalgic trace of the former swimming pool and honors its significance in local memory. The design is a contemporary take on traditional river bathing pavilions. Its organic shape responds to the nearby river and its natural flow. The pavilion is made of a wooden structure with a light roof and open space concept, helping it blend into the landscape. References to historic bathhouses appear in deep red accents that enliven the structure. The pavilion is not merely a place for swimming, but becomes a community hub where the natural environment meets architecture, creating a harmonious setting for summer days and evening gatherings by the water.
