The SWARM is a strategic framework that spans from urban-scale interventions to individual building transformations in Seoul’s Gangnam-gu district. It addresses climate change and demographic shifts to create a resilient, sustainable neighborhood. Measures include new green spaces, lane reduction, and car-free blocks. Buildings are either reused or replaced to optimize solar performance and improve the urban microclimate. Custom façade systems respond to local solar conditions, while shading elements in residential buildings enhance comfort. A central park and new community buildings integrate all daily functions on-site.
