sweet home at freight station

I’m heading home from work, sitting in the tram. Next stop – Nákladové nádraží Žižkov on Olšanská Street. Finally, my stop. I get off, cross the street, and go straight to the entrance. Up the stairs to the third floor, then along the gallery to my flat. Neighbor kids are racing on balance bikes. I wave at neighbors chatting and smoking by their door. I open the door – I’m home. Someone knocks. "Hey, coming down for a beer?" We sit in the courtyard, sipping beer. In the distance, the tram muffledly clangs. People pass through the block – some pause in the quiet, others head into the freight station’s bustle.
