BACKYARD

The architectural study deals with the revitalization of the courtyard block in Štěpánská Street, where only an older apartment building is currently located. The new design brings a thoughtful addition to the existing structure with new apartment units, a senior citizen home, a children's group and a café. The aim is to create a functionally diverse and open environment that will support community life and intergenerational meetings. Greenery and public space play a key role in the design - a playground, quiet zones and living areas are being created in the courtyard, which support contact between residents of all age groups. The overall concept is based on a harmonious connection of private and public life and brings a new purpose to the old building and the courtyard.
