We are removing the boundary between Nové Město and Karlín, opening up the space of the former fortification belt. What was once a zone of highways and parking lots is transformed into a new urban boulevard. A former periphery becomes a vibrant center with public buildings. We connect the riverfront, the boulevard, the squares – and the people. The new parliament is designed as a modern public building rooted in Prague’s historical and symbolic context.Its dominant feature is a pair of towers, facing each other like symbolic “gates to the city” – open, citizen-oriented, and uniting two urban structures.The towers are arranged in a composition that evokes entrance, transition, and dialogue – between Nové Město and Karlín, and between the state and the public.
