SPORTS PAVILION

Nové město and Karlín are now separated by a physical and sensory barrier – a highway that has an unurban character and changes the sense of space. What if instead we create a whole strip of public buildings with city parks, accessible to the whole society? With public transport that would be part of this lively and active place, instead of towering over it? The sports pavilion is located in the informal part of the whole strip. The junction of the two rounded forms of the building is a wall that has no thickness and invites you to discover what is behind it. The construction aims to attract people of all ages: an open and safe play area for younger children, a skate park for teenagers, various playgrounds for adults and open spaces for quiet relaxation for seniors
