Annotation

The abandoned experimental panel house in Strašnice is a space of striking contrasts—street-facing yet hardly accessible, visible yet unreadable. Embracing the boldness of its original architecture, we reimagine the building by dividing it into two distinct volumes, separated both functionally and spatially. Given that the property is city-owned, the western wing is transformed into senior housing—responding to a pressing local need, as Prague 10 has the oldest demographic profile of all Prague districts. The southern wing is adapted into city-operated, barrier-free rental apartments. The former laundry building is repurposed into a flexible, community-oriented space for workshops and events. Its existing staircase tower is reinterpreted as a quiet prayer room.
