Palacký and the City's New Currents

Bc. Robin Primus

Annotation

The project revitalizes a central area of Prague between Palackého Square, the Vltava River, and Karlovo Square. It addresses the site's untapped potential by proposing a cohesive, diverse, and landscape-rich urban structure. A new water canal forms the main axis, linking the riverbank with the Emmaus Monastery and accompanied by a museum, offices, and a promenade. Palackého Square is renewed with greenery and water features, while a new park is created near the Church of the Holy Trinity. Contemporary Baroque gardens on the slope below the monastery flow into green roofs of nearby housing. The project highlights the connection between historical heritage and the needs of the modern city.
