NEW VISITOR CENTRE AND FACILITIES

The task was to design an info center and visitor facilities for the former Premonstratensian monastery site. The chosen location is the current parking area between the convent, river, and fire station. The design includes two new buildings. The visitor center with a ticket booth is inspired by the monastery’s elliptical staircase and built from removable, recyclable steel and glass. The second building reflects the shape and mass of existing structures. It offers a café, public toilets, bike storage, and an info office on the ground floor, seasonal apartments above, and shared tourist lodging in the attic.
