PRAGUE PARK WALL BELT - CITY PARK
Annotation
Between Nové Město and Karlín there is still a border-barrier created by the physical footprint of the main road and the urban planning decisions of the last century. This space, formerly defined by fast passage and traffic, is now opening up to a new imagination. The removal of the arterial road creates an opportunity: the space is freed up, and a full urban environment is created instead of an isolated strip. Between the two historic districts, a new axis-bulvar is created, linking to the Hlávka Bridge and the U Bulhara intersection. In this belt, a public space will be created - a place where the flow of people, the shade of trees and quiet open spaces mix. New squares, parks, forecourts will be created. Six public buildings will be accommodated, complemented by residential development
