What do people do at Palmovka nowadays? Well usually they want to get out as quick as possible.
But, this bleak place offers neglected and unresolved spaces (led by the unfinished town hall) that could be put to use—not only for the residents of Prague 8. The area's transport accessibility is above standard—there is a metro station right on the square and several tram lines provide connections to the rest of the capital. However, public amenities are not as strong, with the biggest shortcoming being the lack of a proper public library. That's why, during the semester, I focused on designing one—aligned with climate change and the challenges or opportunities it may bring.
