[WE]AVE

In northwest India, Jaipur is one of the most populous and climate-vulnerable cities, facing extreme heat waves, prolonged summers, and declining rainfall. By the end of the century, the nearby Thar Desert is projected to expand and engulf the city, severely impacting daily life. Compounding the crisis is the city's lack of public infrastructure. [WE]AVE responds to these urgent challenges by transforming an underutilised site—active only a few weeks a year for trade fairs—into a multifunctional space. Preserving its original use, the project introduces a floating urban park inspired by traditional cooling techniques like step-wells and wind catchers. [WE]AVE envisions a resilient, adaptive green canopy—an oasis for recreation and survival in a warming future.
