where did the fences go?

Annotation
Allotment gardens, as a specific form of urban space, play a significant ecological, social, and urban role. In the context of increasing development pressure and shifting urban planning paradigms, it is essential to explore new ways of integrating these areas into the city fabric. Isolation, selective accessibility and seasonality prevent a connection with the city. This work categorizes approaches into four variants, based on examples of gardens owned by the City of Prague. Potential uses include conversion into affordable housing, green corridors along traffic arteries, or linear parks with community gardens. Key principles are opening closed areas to the public, maintaining their communal character, and ensuring balanced spatial zoning.
