THE ARCHIVE

Annotation

The Archive is a public square project located in Prague's Žižkov district, designed for a triangular corner site with significant elevation changes. Two triangular-form buildings, a library and a cinema, define the edges of the space. The level difference is resolved through steps and ramps, with wider treads in certain areas creating informal seating. At the heart of the square stands a modern sculpture, while the brick facades reflect an industrial aesthetic inspired by the railway infrastructure and bridges to the north, grounding the project in its industrial heritage while creating a vibrant civic space for the community.
