The proposed CIK-CAK project in the Old Town completes the existing block of the Na Františku Hospital complex. It provides affordable housing for hospital employees and a much-needed active ground floor with a restaurant. The building is located on a currently underused site mainly serving as a hospital parking lot, transforming an inactive urban area into a fully functional part of the city structure. The L-shaped massing respects the street line and completes the block corner. Continuous balconies along the façades accentuate the horizontal articulation. The layout uses a split-level principle, allowing efficient use of the terrain’s height difference. The building is designed with an emphasis on maximum use of space; apartments are modest and rationally arranged.
