Nutcracker

Soft Cracks Hard. The nutcracker design reinterprets a common hand tool with an emphasis on functionality, ergonomics, and innovation. The project is based on an analysis of existing nutcrackers and principles of force transmission. The use of a compound lever mechanism that tensions a textile strap became the central idea of the design — cracking a hard nut using a soft material. The proposal was gradually tested and refined through sketches and prototypes, which served to optimize the form, construction, and user comfort.
